Everything we make

Custom 3D Printing And Design Services

If it can be printed, it is probably something we make. Articulated figures, fidgets and clickers, hype chains, vases and planters, drink sleeves, light boxes, sports awards, branded promo items, personalized gifts, NFC business cards, replacement parts, and shelf inventory for local shops. We also model from scratch when there is no file to start from. Everything printed in PLA, PLA+, PETG, and TPU.

Custom 3D Printing And Design, Built For Real Projects

WestSide 3D is a hands-on 3D printing and CAD design shop. We take ideas, sketches, photos, or finished design files and turn them into physical pieces. Every project is custom, one-off or small batch, never mass-produced. The pages below group the work into the categories people search for most, but they are a starting point rather than a menu. Plenty of what comes off our printers does not sit neatly in any one of them.

Materials

We print in PLA, PLA+, PETG, and TPU. PLA and PLA+ are the default, sharp detail with the widest color range. PETG handles outdoor or weather exposure. TPU is flexible, used for cases, grips, and shock-absorbing parts. No ABS, no metal, no engraving.

Build Volume

Most projects fit comfortably on our print bed. Bigger pieces get split into clean sections that bolt or glue together once printed. We've delivered statement pieces well beyond a single print-bed footprint this way. For unusually large projects, send us a quote and we'll see what we can do.

Color Range

Multi-color prints up to 4 colors are quoted at standard pricing. 5 or more colors is available with custom quoting since each extra color adds material change time on the printer. Brand-matched and team-color requests are common.

No File? No Problem.

Plenty of customers come to us with just an idea, a photo, or a rough sketch. CAD design is one of our core services, billed hourly with a one hour minimum. There are two rates: one where we design and print it, and a higher one where you keep a print-ready STL or 3MF of the finished model. CAD space is limited and fills up quickly, so ask early.

Picking The Right Plastic For The Job

Each filament has a sweet spot. We'll often suggest a material when you submit your quote, but here's the cheat sheet so you can come in already knowing what you want.

PLA

Default Choice

Sharp detail, the widest color range, and the lowest cost. Best for indoor display pieces, gifts, decor, figurines, fidgets, and anything that won't sit in direct sun all day. Perfectly fine for everyday handling.

  • Articulated figures
  • Gifts and keepsakes
  • Display pieces and signage
  • Most hype chain emblems
PLA+

Tougher PLA

The same look and color range as PLA, but stronger and more impact-resistant. We use it when a piece needs to stand up to drops, twisting, or repeat handling. Slightly higher cost, often worth it.

  • Sports awards and trophies
  • Cosplay props and accents
  • Functional brackets and clips
  • Items kids will play with
PETG

Outdoor And Weather

Holds up to UV, heat, and moisture better than PLA. Good choice for items going outside or in a vehicle. Slight glossy finish, less fine detail than PLA but still clean.

  • Outdoor signage
  • Garden or yard pieces
  • Car and dashboard accessories
  • Tool storage and shop fixtures
TPU

Flexible And Soft

A rubbery flex-plastic. Bends, stretches, and absorbs impact. Used when a part needs grip, shock cushioning, or has to flex into place rather than snap together rigidly.

  • Phone and case grips
  • Shock-absorbing inserts
  • Flexible mounts and gaskets
  • Pet collar and pet accessory accents

Services FAQ

What materials do you offer for 3D printing?
We print in PLA, PLA+, PETG, and TPU. PLA and PLA+ are our default for most items, sharp detail and the widest color range. PETG handles outdoor or weather exposure better. TPU is flexible, used for cases, grips, or shock-absorbing parts. We don't print in ABS or use metal materials, and we don't do laser engraving.
What's the largest item you can print?
Most projects fit comfortably on our print bed. For pieces larger than that, we design them in sections that bolt or glue together cleanly. We've delivered statement pieces well beyond a single print-bed footprint this way. If you have an unusually large project, ask on the quote and we'll let you know what's possible.
Can you make something that is not listed on your site?
Almost certainly, yes. The category pages exist to help people find us, not to limit what we take on. If you can describe it or show us a picture, put it on the quote form and we will tell you what it takes to make. Most projects that look unusual turn out to be a mix of things we already do every week.
How much does a typical project cost?
Pricing depends heavily on size, material, color count, and complexity, so we quote each project rather than working off a price list. CAD design work is billed hourly with a one hour minimum, separate from print cost. Submit the quote form and we send you a line-item quote. No figure is final until the project is fully scoped, and anything that changes it gets communicated to you in advance.
Do I get the CAD design file?
On the Design To Keep service you receive a print-ready STL or 3MF file of the finished model. Design To Print is the cheaper hourly rate: we model it, we print it, and no file is delivered. If you start on Design To Print and later want the file, you pay the difference on every hour already worked at the Design To Keep rate. We do not release our working CAD source files on either service, though that may change in the future.
How do I get started?
Use the quote form. It walks you through the right questions for your project type and lets you upload reference images or files. We reply with a detailed quote, line-item pricing, and the right delivery option for your situation.
