Design To Keep costs more and you receive a print-ready STL or 3MF of the finished model, yours to keep and have printed anywhere. Both are hourly with a one hour minimum.

Send a sketch, a photo, a description, or just an idea. JPG, PNG, and PDF references are all accepted on the quote form.
We review and send back a quote covering design hours, printing, and delivery. Larger projects get split into design phase and print phase.
We model it in CAD, send you preview renders, and refine it until you are happy with it.
Once the design is locked, we print it. Meetup in Stanislaus County, direct delivery, or USPS shipping. Pay by Stripe, PayPal, a cash app like Venmo, or cash on a local handoff.
Color is a design decision, not something added afterward. When we know a piece is going to be multi-color, we build the model in separate parts so each one prints in its own filament: a raised logo that sits proud of its background, lettering that reads cleanly, an inset that catches the light differently to the body around it.
Tell us the colors while we are still modeling and it costs nothing extra to plan for. Decide afterward and the model usually has to be reworked, because a shape built as one solid piece has nowhere for the printer to swap filament. That rework is billable design time, which is the whole reason we ask early.
There is a practical ceiling too. Beyond about four colors the separations get fiddly to model and fiddly to print, and the piece rarely looks better for it. If your design genuinely needs more, say so and we will build it that way.
Some jobs cannot be done from a photo. If a part has threads, a taper, a snap fit, or a face that has to seat against something else, guessing at it wastes both our time. When that is the case we will ask to borrow the original.
If we think we need the physical part, we arrange to pick it up from you locally and bring it back to the shop. No shipping it off to a stranger and hoping.
Calipers, thread pitch, wall thickness, tolerances, the lot. Every dimension that matters gets recorded before a single line of the model is drawn.
Having the original in hand means test prints get checked against the real thing rather than against a drawing. It is the difference between close and actually fitting.
Always. Your original comes back to you when we are done, whether the project worked out or not. If we cannot replicate it, you still get your part back and we tell you why.

Design work is billed by the hour with a one hour minimum. Which rate applies comes down to one thing: whether you are taking a file with you. Any hour figure we give you before starting is a rough estimate, because how long a model takes depends on how complex it turns out to be once we are inside it. If it is running longer than we said, you hear about it while it is happening, not on the invoice. Print costs are separate from design fees on every project.
